sweet buttercream frosting

1/2 lb unsalted butter
1 lb powdered sugar (450g)
1 tbsp cornstarch (or pudding mix)
1 tbsp whipping cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt

Make sure all ingredients are room temperature, especially butter
Cream butter in stand mixer until creamy.
Add whipping cream, cornstarch, salt -- don't overmix.
Add the powdered sugar in two batches -- don't overmix.
Add vanilla and mix well.
Check consistency and add more cream or sugar as needed.
**total mixing time should not exceed 5 minutes
